On June 8, 2004, Venus did
something that she hasn't done in 120 years. She is going to cross the face of
the Sun. This is called an occultation. I have seen
it called an eclipse on some web sites, but this is not true. It is too small to
block out the sun. It looks like a tiny white dot crossing the sun is
Venus the size of the head of a pin. The size of Venus crossing the sun does not take away from the importance
of this event.
These important Venus transits
come in pairs approximately 8 years apart.
Sequences of the transits vary at
121.5 and 105.5 years apart, and then have a stable 243 years apart. They always occur around
approximately the end of November or beginning of December, Sagittarius, or end
of May beginning of June. Gemini. The first of the current pair will be on June
8, 2004, in 17 Gemini 53, the sign of communication. [The fact that it is in Gemini
is important to note, and will be explained further on.] This is followed by
another transit 9 years later on June 6, 2012, also in Gemini, at 15 Gemini 44.
At sunrise, 5:15 EDT on June 8, Venus
was halfway across the sun. The
eclipse ended at about 11:27 EDT. Only the East coast of the US was able to see
this transit. The transit was also visible from Europe, Africa, and Asia.
The next Venus occultation in the pair is on June
5, 2012, starting around 22:09 UT, and ends at June 6, 2012, 04:49 UT. It will be visible from the
North America, the Pacific, Australia
and eastern Asia. Historical Events
One pair of
transits occurred in 1519 and 1526. At that time Magellan started his sail that
proved the world was not flat. This was one of the first steps into a new
worldview - we live on a globe, not a flat world that drops off into heaven, or
hell, depending on your beliefs or fears.
The next
transits were December 1631 and December 1639. During this time national mail
service was started in Denmark and Sweden. This enabled communication over long
distances. [This transit was in Sagittarius, which rules long distances.]
At the time of the 1639 transit, the first printing press was set up in
America in Cambridge, MA. With faster communication the global village had
started.
The transits of
June 1761 and June 1769 caused another first.
There was an effort by astronomers around the world to observe and share
information. This kind of cooperation had never been done by any group,
scientific or not, on a global scale before. Venus is all about relationships,
and Gemini is information. She was the cause of the change in the way we
communicate with each other throughout the world. She started the "world
brain", as it has been called.
With the next
group starting in 1874, we had the telephone and its patent two years later The
explosion of information really started - newspapers, telephone, telegraph,
eventually radio and now the Internet. Each transit has brought about new explorations into the world, especially in communication, because the transits often occur in Gemini the sign of communication. It has brought humanity closer together. What will the transits of 2004 and 2012 bring? It is “mind” boggling to think that we could have another colossal advance in thinking, communicating and relationships. What will the new world-view become? The Mayan Calendar and 2012
The date of
this eclipse is important. It is
said to coincide with the end of the Mayan Calendar in the year 2012. Is it
coincidental that the “Transits of Venus” occur at that time? Many people
believe that the end of the Mayan calendar is the end of the world. This does
not have to mean the end of the world in a physical sense, but it does allow us
to think about the end of the world, as we know it. It is an opening into a new
and better dimension. These transits always occur in Gemini and/or Sag. The meaning of the astrological symbols Gemini and Sagittarius gives us a clue as to what is going on. Sagittarius is associated with belief, and with things that are foreign to us. If you look at a picture of Sagittarius, you see a figure half-horse, half-man, shooting an arrow into the sky. This arrow has a focus, and that focus is to something ahead.
Any Transits of
Venus that occur in December, in the sign Sagittarius, are giving man the energy
to explore new places, to venture ahead into new beliefs.
Any Transit of Venus in Gemini,
has to do with communication. Gemini is also known as
the messenger of the gods, the bridge between the gods and man. Venus in the
macrocosm sends the energy of the sun/son to man through Gemini creating a
bridge to the gods, in the microcosm left brain to right brain.
What should we
do? We can accept that we choose our thoughts and how they are directed. We can
realize that there is such as thing as global thought. We can begin to know that
our thoughts affect our world and that group thought is a power to be reckoned
with. We are going beyond the left-brain and bringing back the power of the
right brain. Is this is what is meant by the return of the Goddess? In 1986, I was told that we would go through another apocalypse of sorts, and that it would reveal itself in an unexpected way. It would not be flood [water], famine and the ice age [earth], or fire [misuse of energy]. Stockpiling cans of survival food, and building underground shelters would not protect us. It would not be anything that we could conceive. The only element left is air, which is an element of the mind. I was given a glimpse of the pain that the mind would cause the emotions during this time. Think of all the emotional pain and mental dysfunction on the planet at this time.. The real crisis is coming through the mind, affecting the emotions, and it is personal. Don’t forget our thoughts now affect our world on increasing levels and in a faster amount of time. Physically, this is high force winds and unusual, harsh weather patterns. Group thought affects weather.
All of this his has been happening for several years. We
are wrestling with our personal demons so that we can walk forward into the new
world, and it is our choice, no one is forcing us to do this. You can do it in
your own time, your own space. A new dimension is starting, and you can take
advantage of it just by letting go of the old negative thought tapes. Change
your thoughts and you change your life. When June 8th arrives all you have to do is be aware. Confront your negative thoughts and let them come out into the open. Venus is the planet of pleasure and harmony. She doesn’t bring suffering. She is bringing the light from the sun so that we can end our suffering, and replace it with pleasure. The cycle will complete in 8 years in the summer of 2012. So you have plenty of time to practice how you would like to think in the future.
